I ordered two 16′ x 12′ wood and metal gazebos. Total $1998 including free shipping. The website took me to a financing company called Affirm 0% for 12 months, which seems legit? I tried to contact ShopTala within two hours to cancel. Phone does not work, chat no reply, and email no reply.
I then contact Affirm within 2 hours, to complain about a scam and to not approve the loan or pay the merchant. They say they can’t refund the money until the merchant OKs it. Any suggestions? It seems that Affirm would be somewhat liable since I notified them before the order was even processed by the merchant.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I had almost identical experience, other than the size of the shed. Mine occured 5/8/23. Same response from Affirm. Received no order confirmation from seller and as soon as I hit the “Buy” button, there is Affirm, ready to finance something I was prepared to pay for on the spot. Was not able to contact seller to cancel. now it is 10/20/23 and they have sent me to collection agency. No product=no pay.
