Unboxing And Testing
The doorbell camera are not the best on the market but considering the price paid. I also purchased it and it initially would not log any video over 10 sec. I complained and they issued a software update and then they remembered me and contacted to tell me the new software was available.
Another thing I noticed was the fact that the motion activation kept getting activated every time I checked the live feed. I would get a notification on my phone, go into the app to check what the camera saw by looking at the events history. The events history would not update, so then I would look at the live feed, which caused the camera to send me another notification for motion and start recording. However there was not actually any motion in view while I was watching the live feed. This happened at night. It seems like it turns on a light or something because the video quality changes from dark to light in night vision. I got this to watch neighborhood cats that I’m feeding and it seems to spook the cats when I check the live feed. I made sure that the setting for the camera light was off but there still seems to be something funky happening.
I also Tried it for about a week and adjusted all of the settings, and still unable to find any info about this in their support center. Really wanted this to work since it is rechargeable. I have been using a battery powered trail camera that I was hoping to replace with this one. This one seems to be a lot more trouble than it’s worth and won’t record as long as the other one that I already own so it’s getting returned.
