The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced an urgent recall of Dr. Rima Recommends Nano Silver 10 ppm dietary supplement as the product makes “unsubstantiated health claims that the product will prevent, treat or cure COVID-19.” 

What Is This Class Action All About?

The FDA website published the urgent recall notice March 8. It applies to the product “Dr. Rima Recommends Nano Silver 10ppm” made by Natural Solutions Foundation and sold between Jan. 22, 2020 to Dec. 27, 2021.

According to the recall notice, the FDA filed a complaint against Natural Solutions Foundation for deceiving consumers. Iit entered into a Consent Decree of Permanent Injunction in December 2021, which included a required recall.

“It is the government’s position that consumers who use this product instead of seeking timely medical treatment run the risk of serious, life-threatening health consequences,” the COVID supplement recall states.

The recall asks distributors to examine their inventories and “immediately cease” distribution. 

“You are encouraged to notify your customers that the Product recall is occurring and to provide them with a copy of this Notice,” Natural Solutions Foundation says. “This recall should be carried out to the consumer level.”

The company also asked distributors to complete a response form and return any unused product within 22 days to receive a refund check.

“Refund checks will be sent within 14 days of the date the Product is received by the Foundation,” the COVID supplement recall states.

In other COVID supplement news, in 2020, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission sent a round of warning letters to supplement companies marketing their products for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19, telling them to stop unless they can prove their claims.
