The Bates Family
The Bates Family is a family consisting of 19 children, and 19 grandchildren with Gill Bates as the patriarch of the family. Gill bates is married to Kelly Bates and they document their family life on the show, Bringing Up Bates. The UPtv personalities first graced television screens in a 2012 series called United Bates of America. They returned to TV for Bringing Up Bates three years later and had reached their 9th season by March 2020.
Outside of Bringing up Bates, the family patriarch, Gil Bates, owns the excavating company Bates Tree Service and also heads his own church as its pastor. He and wife Kelly Jo Bates’ adult kids have jobs of their own, and they are not broke.
Bringing Up Bates Cancelation
The reality series Bringing Up Bates will not be returning as UPtv has canceled the long-running show. However they did not give reasons for canceling it. But the Bates Family followers are not having any of it. Bates family followers aren’t convinced that UpTV decided, after much filming, to stop the show’s next season for programming purposes. Followers are of the opinion that the move toward scripted content is something the network would have already had in the works. That doesn’t seem to be the case, since the network was allegedly already filming. So what exactly prompted UpTV’s decision to cancel the longstanding reality TV show?
The Bates Family followers on Reddit are of the opinion that there is a scandal brewing and Uptv does not want to be involved in it.
Somethings up. I think someone at UPtv was alerted of a scandal breaking and they wanted to get out ahead, same way Oprah cancelled the Duggar appearance all those years ago when she was tipped off.

With the outbreak of the cancelation news, the Bates family shared their reaction in a statement to People. “We realize God’s timing is always perfect, and we are looking forward to what the future holds for our own family, as well as the network!”
