A proposed Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit involving certain Allura branded fiber cement lap siding (“Siding”) manufactured or sold by Plycem USA LLC (“Plycem”). The lawsuit claims that the Siding is defective and is prone to cracking, bowing, shrinking, warping, breakage, or gapping. You may be included in the Settlement Class if you own a home with: Siding manufactured in Plycem’s plant located in White City, Oregon between February 1, 2014 and May 7, 2014 or manufactured in Plycem’s Roaring River, North Carolina plant between February 1, 2014 and February 18, 2015. The place and date of manufacture are stenciled on the back of each board. The provisions of the Settlement
If the Class Member then provides sufficient proof of repair for the entire elevation within the allotted time, they will be eligible to receive $4.25 per square foot of the remaining portions of the elevation.
Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of valid claims filed in each pool.
Conclusion
A final approval hearing in the Allura siding settlement was held May 17, 2021. The deadlines to opt out of or ask to be excluded from settlement have passed. Claim forms must be submitted by 6 p.m. Pacific on June 23, 2023.
